When an employee doesn't deliver...

Whenever someone new sits in Management, there'll usually be some song-and-dance about how he/she can make a difference.

Afterall, if he/she claims to be able to make a difference, is asking for sign-on bonus, increments, and benefits, he/she had better be able to steer us in the right direction and bring us to greater heights and success. Right?


The government gave out some S$230 million in baby bonus payments in 2009, up from S$55 million in 2004. But there was no corresponding increase in the total fertility rate.


So much for the creme de la creme

Imagine, if some high flyer parachuted into your company, is paid 100x more than you, spent a whole lot of your bonus reinvested your bonus back into the company during their tenureship to launch his grand plans, and yet fail to bring in the results?

Fire him, I say.
