Retirement Planning 101

Rule #1 (for Singaporeans only)

Do not rely on your CPF.

Do not count on CPF Life and it's 'income for life' slogan to provide for your needs.

If you do, be sure you can answer the following questions first :

Date

1) when will you get your money?
2) who decides when you'll get your money?

Amount

1) how much will you receive?
2) who decides how much you'll receive?

If the answer to the questions above is not 'Me' (that is, yourself), then why do you count so much on it?

Remember, giving you an income of $1 a month for as long as you live, is also giving you an income for life.
